Owls student-athletes Kobe Parker, Maddie Pond, Aiden Winslow, Jace Falcone, and Eliza Lee were all recognized as members of the 2025 winter sportsmanship team.

After the conclusion of the winter sports season, Westfield State University Athletics continues to hold the top spot in the 2024-25 Howard C. Smith Cup standings, awarded annually to the institution with the best overall athletics program in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference.

The Owls top rookie forward also added NABC and D3Hoops.com all-region honors to his growing resume.

WESTFIELD, Mass. – Amr Aerikat scored a game high 17 points to lead the way for Randolph Macon (Va.) College as Westfield State fell to the Yellowjackets by a 82-48 final score the opening round of the NCAA Division III men’s basketball tournament at Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, on Friday afternoon.

The Westfield State Owls (21-6) will face off against the Randolph-Macon Yellow Jackets (23-4) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday, March 7, at 3:30 PM

Top-seeded Westfield State (20-6) men’s basketball hosts #2 Salem State (12-14) in the the MASCAC Championship Game on Saturday, March 1 at 1:00 p.m. The winner of the game earns the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Lid Moreland (Bridgeport, Conn.) delivered a commanding game-high 20-point performance on efficient 9-of-15 shooting, leading the top-seeded Westfield State Owls to an emphatic 83-67 victory over the #4 seeded Framingham State Rams in the MASCAC semifinals at the Woodward Center on Thursday night.

Top-seeded Westfield State men's basketball will look to defend home court as they host fourth-seeded Framingham State in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference semifinal game on Thursday, February 27, 2025, with a 7:00 p.m. tip-off at the Woodward Center.

Hamilton had a storied career with the Owls, as a four-year player who earned all-conference honors each season, including Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year honors in 2020, and defensive player of the year honors in 2023 and 2024.
