Westfield State Athletics Hold Top Spot in 2023-24 Smith Cup Standings
At the conclusion of the winter sports season, Westfield State University Athletics continues to hold the top spot in the 2023-24 Howard C. Smith Cup standings as the best athletic program in the MASCAC.
Three Owls Named as NFHCA Scholars of Distinction
Owls sophomores Maddy Barry (Norwood, Mass.) and Kaleigh Murphy (Pembroke, Mass.), and first-year Lee Gould (Southborough, Mass./Algonquin) were recognized for the award, which honors undergraduate student-athletes who have exhibited exceptional academic excellence, achieving a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher throughout the fall semester of the 2023-24 academic year.

Westfield State Athletics placed over 200 student-athletes on the MASCAC Fall/Winter All-Academic team for the 2023 fall semester.
Field Hockey To Host Prospect Clinic on Sunday, March 3
The clinic will run from 10:00 a.m. to -1:30p.m., and includes a 2-hour clinic with the Westfield State coaching staff, a campus tour, and team lunch in dining hall.

Senior back Morgan Wichmann (Granby, Conn.) was named to the first team, while senior back Bre Foley (South Hadley, Mass.) and senior midfielder Emily Martin (Southwick, Mass.) were selected for the second team.
Field Hockey Falls in MASCAC Semifinal, 2-1 in Double OT
Ashley Malmquist (Braintree, Mass.) scored the game winning goal in the second overtime period to lift #3 Framingham State to 2-1 win over #2 Westfield State in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference field hockey semifinals at Alumni Field on Friday afternoon.
