Athletic Events Photography Policy

Westfield State Athletics Photographer/Videographer Sideline Policy

All photographers/videographers must have permission from the Westfield State athletics department/sports information office to shoot at Westfield State athletics events and from inside the Alumni Field fenced area.

In general, only credentialed media members in a working capacity are permitted at field level during the game. Photographers must adhere to all sideline regulations and are asked to be considerate of other photographers.  Friends, family or other photographers may be granted permission with the advance request to shoot from the field area on a case by case basis.

Photographers and/or Media members on the sideline are not to enter the bench area and asked not to shoot into the bench area from directly behind it. Please stay 10 yards away from the benches and/or midfield substitution areas at all times as to not interfere with the operation of the contest.

Photographers must keep back a reasonable distance from the field as to not interfere with play, referees, chain gang, ball boys, or other game staff.

Photographers are asked to not block the view of spectators. No grips or assistants are permitted at field level unless previously granted permission from the Westfield State athletic department staff.

Standard media “No Cheering” Policies will be enforced for all photographers.

**ALL PHOTOGRAPHERS/MEDIA WORKING ON THE FIELD ASSUME ALL RISK FOR THEIR PERSONAL SAFETY AND ACKNOWLEDGE RISK OF INJURY FROM PLAY SPILLING OFF THE FIELD, BALLS, PUCKS, STICKS OR OTHER SPORTING EQUIPMENT THAT MAY LEAVE THE FIELD OF PLAY, OR ANY OTHER ROUTINE OPERATION OF A SPORTING EVENT.**

All photography will be in compliance with NCAA and Westfield State rules and policy.  Images may not be sold for commercial purposes, nor may any athlete’s image be used for commercial purposes without permission of the Westfield State athletics department to ensure compliance with NCAA Rules at all times.
