133 Owls Student-Athletes Named to Winter/Spring MASCAC 2025 All-Academic Team
133 student-athletes across nine winter and spring sports recognized for their academic achievement.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – A total of 133 Westfield State student-athletes across nine different sports earned placement on the Winter/Spring MASCAC 2025 All-Academic Team as released earlier today by conference Commissioner Angela Baumann.
Student-athletes who compete in championship varsity sports offered by each of the MASCAC institutions during the course of the Winter and Spring 2025 athletic season and have achieved a 3.20 cumulative or semester-based grade point average during the semester are eligible for selection to the Winter/Spring All-Academic.
On the Winter/Spring 2025 MASCAC All-Academic Team, Worcester State University finished with 15 percent of the total numbers of student-athletes while Westfield State University had 13 percent with Bridgewater State University, Fitchburg State University and Framingham State University all at 11 percent. Salem State University landed at nine percent while MCLA was at seven percent and Massachusetts Maritime at six.
"I want to extend my congratulations to all the MASCAC student-athletes named to the 2025 Winter/Spring All-Academic Team," said Commissioner Angela Baumann. "Their ability to excel academically while competing at a high level across our conference truly embodies the spirit of what it means to be a student-athlete. I am incredibly proud of their dedication and achievements both in the classroom and in competition."
A total of 1,062 student-athletes across MASCAC and conference affiliate institution were recognized as part of the winer/spring all-academic team.
The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, the nation's oldest Division III men's and women's playing conference, has a rich and storied tradition of competitive success while celebrating excellence in the classroom. MASCAC member schools include Bridgewater State University, Fitchburg State University, Framingham State University, MCLA, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Salem State University, Westfield State University and Worcester State University. Two other institutions, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and Plymouth State University, are affiliate members of the conference in the sports of football and men's ice hockey, while Western Connecticut State University joined the conference as a football affiliate member in 2013. Springfield College joined as men's golf affiliates in 2019 while Marymount University and Marywood University joined in 2024. Anna Maria became our ninth core member in 2025.
