Varsity Athlete Registration 2024-25 Academic Year
All student-athletes who plan to play, practice with, or try-out for a Westfield State Varsity Sport in the 2024-25 academic year must complete the steps below.
Requirements for varsity participation:
1. Notify the head coach of your intention to participate.
2. Your academic eligibility will be verified by the Department of Athletics Compliance staff.
3. Complete all registration, medical requirements, and NCAA Eligibility Center Profile by the following dates:
July 12 - Football
July 19– All other fall sport athletes (field hockey, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women cross country, volleyball)
August 16 – Spring sport athletes (baseball, softball, women’s lacrosse)
August 16 – Winter sport athletes (women’s swimming and diving, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s ice hockey, men’s and women’s track and field)
January 2, 2025 – New transfer students and new athletes for spring sports
4. Register as a student-athlete by purchasing a ticket – which results in the purchase of practice clothing – https://westfield.universitytickets.com/w/default.aspx?PageNumber=1 - and complete the form.
5. Complete all medical requirements outlined on the Student-Athletes tab of www.WestfieldStateOwls.com. Go to Athletic Training and click on Student-Athlete Medical Forms and complete all six steps. Please note an annual physical completed within six months of the first varsity practice is required per NCAA policy and sickle cell trait status is now required for all new (i.e. first-year and transfer) student-athletes. (If you cannot obtain a physical prior to the date above, please complete all other medical requirements and schedule your physical as soon as possible).
6. Complete the Student Athlete Information form: https://westfield.presence.io/form/student-athlete-registration-form-24-25
7. If you are a first-year, transfer student, or have never yet competed for Westfield State, you must create a profile in the NCAA Eligibility Center at: https://web3.ncaa.org/ecwr3/register/PROFILE
8. INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ONLY: All NEW incoming international student athletes need to fill out this form with the NCAA https://web3.ncaa.org/ecwr3/register/CERTIFICATION?accountSubType=AMATEURISM
