Mens Cross Country Finishes Seventh at Trinity
John Nekitopolous finished seventh in the Trinity Bantam cross country meet, helping Westfield State to a seventh place team finish.
WESTFIELD, Mass. — John Nekitopoulos finished seventh in the Trinity Bantam cross country meet, helping Westfield State to a seventh place team finish.
The Trinity Bantam meet was held at Wickham Park in Manchester Conn., the course ran at a 5000m length.
John Nekitopoulos (West Springfield, Mass.) finished in seventh place individually for an official time of 16:50.8. This was a minute and five seconds faster than Nekitopolous finished in this meet a season ago.
The Owls had two more finishers in the top 60 in Gordon Johnson (Hanson, Mass.) and Rowan Gottshall (Simsbury, Conn.).
Johnson finished 46th for an official time of 17:34.8, which was a minute and nine seconds better than his previous time at Trinity last fall.
Gottshall also finished in a better time than last season as his official time of 17:47.1 which was good for 56th place. This time was 45 seconds better than his 2023 finish at the Trinity Course.
Nathan Tassey of Roger Williams finished first individually for an official time of 15:33.9 while UMass Dartmouth finished first in team scoring. Jake Paris, top finisher for the Corsairs, finished fourth individually with an official time of 16:36.7 and Dartmouth had five finishers in the top 15.
The Owls' next meet is Saturday, September 21 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational at 11:15 a.m.
