Rennis Named MASCAC Co-Player of the Week
Senior Justin Rennis earned the MASCAC Co-Player of the Week after a 2-0 week for the Owls in conference play.
Westfield Mass.- Westfield State University's Justin Rennis (Springfield, Mass.) earned the title of Co-Player of the Week in the MASCAC this past week.
Rennis averaged an impressive 16 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 3 steals on 60 percent shooting from the floor, leading the Owls to victory in a 2-0 week for the team. Rennis tied his season high of 22 points in the Owls 89-74 win against Salem State, helping Westfield grab a share of first place in the MASCAC.
The senior guard has been a key contributor to the success that the Owls have had this season, as he is currently second on the team in scoring, averaging 13.8 ppg and 5.0 rebounds.
Rennis and the Owls are currently sitting at 17-4 overall and are tied for first in the MASCAC at 7-2. Their remaining three games will be crucial in determining the outright number one seed going into the playoffs, starting with a conference battle against Worcester State (10-10, 5-2 MASCAC) on Wednesday February 9th at 7:30pm in Worcester's Wellness Center.
