Grant, Hadla Climb Scoring Chart in 86-63 Win At Sage

Westfield improves to 11-5 on the season, while the Gators are now 3-11.
Grant was the only Owl to finish in double-figure scoring on the day as 12 different players found the scoreboard for the Owls. Four players finished with nine points apiece for Westfield – Jess Gardner (Webster, Mass./Holy Name), Maddie Pond (Holyoke, Mass./Hampshire), Caroline Galvani (Framingham, Mass.) and Olivia Hadla (Westfield, Mass.). Hadla snagged seven steals and Pond five as the Owls forced 37 turnovers from Sage.
Westfield trailed 17-14 after the first quarter, but the Owls opened the second quarter with an 18-3 burst that switched the momentum, giving Westfield a 32-20 lead, and Sage would never get the lead under double-figures again.
Grant finished 7-10 from the floor and 6-7 at the foul line. She now has 1,319 points in her career, passing her head coach, Andrea Bertini '96 for ninth on the Owls all-time scoring list. Hadla entered the game in a tie with Bertini with 1,310 career points, and Hadla and Grant now share ninth place on the Owls scoring list after Hadla added nine points to her career totals today.
Westfield converted the 37 Sage turnovers into 40 points and had a 44-22 edge in points in the paint.
Sage was led by 12 points from Olivia Huneau. The Gators finished 25-38 at the foul line after Westfield was whistled for 34 personal fouls.
Westfield has won four straight games. The Owls get back to conference play on Saturday, hosting Bridgewater State at 2:00 p.m. at the Woodward Center.
