Miraldo, Winslow Secure MASCAC Weekly Honors

WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State sophomore forward Christopher Miraldo (Montreal, Quebec) and first-year goaltender Aiden Winslow (Jacksonville, Fla.) both earned conference weekly honors this past week as Miraldo received the MASCAC Player of the Week while Winslow nabbed the conference Rookie of the Week.

Miraldo got off to a blistering start to begin the year 2025 which resulted in the conference player of the week honors, totaling three goals and three assists to go along with a +5 rating in a 2-0 week for the Owls. In Thursday's 5-4 victory over Framingham, Miraldo got the scoring started, then tacked on another goal and two assists for a four-point effort against the Rams. He followed with a goal and an assist in Westfield's 4-1 win over Rivier on the road Saturday evening.

Through 13 games this season, Miraldo leads the Owls with eight goals and 13 points and has recorded at least one goal in five of his last seven games. The eight goals scored are currently tied for fourth in the MASCAC. The Montreal native is particularly lethal on the man-advantage as he leads Westfield with three power play tallies, including one against Rivier to put the game out of reach in the third period.

Winslow earned the league's rookie of the week honors after another impressive week between the pipes, making 94 saves while posting a .949 save percentage in a pair of Westfield wins. With the Owls playing their first games of the season since December 12, Winslow showed no signs of rust in net, piling up a career-high 58 saves in the win over the Rams. He followed by saving 36 shots against Rivier for his fourth win of the campaign.

The rookie netminder has played well above his first-year status this season as he currently leads the MASCAC with a .940 save percentage and is second in the league with a 2.25 goals against average. Over Winslow's last four outings, he has allowed no more than one goal in three of those games, the other requiring a career-high number of saves to preserve an Owls win.

Westfield State men's ice hockey (7-6, 3-3 MASCAC) rides a mini three-game winning streak into their next game as the Owls host Salem State from Amelia Park Arena on Thursday at 2:00 P.M.
