Championship Saturday:  What You Need to Know !

THE GAME:    The top-seeded Westfield State Owls men's basketball hosts the #2-seeded Worcester State Lancers in the Massachusetts Sports Collegiate Athletic Conference playoff finals this Saturday at 1:00 PM at the Woodward Center, 395 Western Ave., Westfield, MA.

The Owls move to the finals for the second straight season, moving past the defending MASCAC champion Salem State Vikings in a 102-76 semifinal victory Thursday. The Worcester State Lancers advance to the finals with a win over MCLA in the MASCAC semifinals 96-72.

This will be the third meeting of the season between the Owls and the Lancers. The first matchup was decided in an 84-81 Worcester State victory on January 14, while the second meeting went to the Owls in a 97-87 win at home on February 5.

Worcester State is seeking its first MASCAC Tournament Title since the 1994 Tournament

Westfield last won the MASCAC Tournament Title in 2015.  Both teams are pursuing their second ever conference tournament championship.

WHAT'S NEXT:  The winner will receive the MASCAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.  Pairings will be announced on Monday, March 2 on a live-streamed selection show on NCAA.com

TICKET PRICES:   $6 for adults, and $3 for senior citizens and non-Westfield State students.  Westfield State students, and children 12 and under are admitted free.

DIRECTIONS:  The Woodward Center is at 385 Western Ave., Westfield, MA on your GPS

PARKING:  At the Woodward Center is limited.  You can park in the Horace Mann Center lot (333 Western Ave- a 2 min walk) or at the Commuter Lot (577 Western Ave – a 5 minute walk) to the game.  Please do not park in the Stanley Park lot opposite the Woodward Center.
