WESTFIELD, Mass. – Malik Pouncy scored 15 points and hit a pair of big second-half three pointers to help lead Westfield State to an 84-79 road win at Western New England College in Springfield on Tuesday evening.

Pouncy led four Owls' players in double figure scoring, as Jauch Green, Jr., Justin Rennis and Brendan Hamilton each added 13 points.

Westfield trailed 41-34 at the half, but rallied to grab a 51-50 lead on Pouncy's first trifecta with 13:37 left in the game.  Pouncy's triple with 8:56 extended the Owls' lead out to 68-60.  Westfield would lead by as many as 10 points, 76-66 with 4:30 left in regulation, but WNE got three straight three-pointers from three different players, the last from Mike McGuire to clip the Owls lead down to 81-79 with 1:25 left in the game.

Westfield's Marcus Collins hit a pair of free throws, and Moody Bey connected on 1 of 2 in the final minute to hold off the Golden Bears.

Westfield State improves to 2-2 with the win. The Owls will next host Emmanuel College on Saturday with a noon tip at the Woodward Center.
