Westfield State University women’s lacrosse will get its toughest test of the year on Saturday, May 11 as the Owls will face #9-ranked University of Mary Washington in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament at Smith Field at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Conn.

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – Westfield State senior Elizabeth Navoni scooped up a loose ball off a rebound and buried her shot with 50 seconds left in regulation to lift Westfield State to the 2019 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference women’s lacrosse championship, 13-12 over top-seeded Framingham State at Maple Street Field on Saturday afternoon.

Westfield State University women's lacrosse got four goals each from Elizabeth Navoni and Maddie Bartkus as the Owls scuttled Mass Maritime by a 16-2 score in a MASCAC game on Saturday evening at Alumni Field.

Westfield State got six goals from Elizabeth Navoni and the Owls pulled away late to defeat Keene State, 15-8, in a non-conference game in Keene, N.H. on Wednesday evening.

Senior midfielder Lucy Barrett (Williamstown, Mass.) paced Westfield State with four goals and an assist, while classmate Sydney Lambert (Hanover, Mass.) checked in with three goals and a helper.

Donohue, Tonelli, and senior Marissa Nimeskern (Hanover, Mass.) each finished with a goal in the loss for the Owls.

Connecticut College freshman Kelly Wolin (Sudbury, Mass.) scored the game winning goal with 3:46 seconds left to give the Camels the tight 12-11 win over Westfield State Wednesday night.

Westfield (2-0) led a balanced attack with 12 different players scoring points in the win.

The Westfield State Women’s lacrosse team will open up the season with a home matchup against Mount Holyoke College on Tuesday, March 5th at 5:00 p.m
