Owls Place Seven On MASCAC Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Team

WESTFIELD, Mass.  --- Westfield State University women's lacrosse placed seven players on the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference all-conference teams, it was announced on Wednesday afternoon.

Westfield State's Elizabeth Navoni, Sydney Lambert, Caroline Arket, Olivia Overdahl, and Maria Woodall were all named to the first-team, while Alexa Tonelli and Marissa Nimeskern were each named to the second team.

Lambert (Hanover, Mass.)  is now a four-time all-conference pick. She leads the Owls in goals (47) and points (65) this season and has a fine complimentary stat line with 33 ground balls, 51 draw controls, and 22 caused turnovers.  She has moved into third on the Owls career scoring list with 214 points in her career.

Navoni ( Mansfield, Mass.) has had her strongest season at Westfield and ranks second on the Owls with 43 goals this season.  She has career totals of 94 goals and 10 assists for 104 points in her career.

Arket (Arlington HS/Pouquag, NY), a defender, was named to the team for the third-straight year. Arket has 28 ground balls and 23 caused turnovers this season to go with two goals. She is the Owls all-time leader in turnovers forced (103) and ranks fourth all time at Westfield 144 ground balls.

Overdahl (Milford, Mass.) was selected for the second-straight season on defense. She has totaled 35 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers this season. She ranks in the Owls career top 10 with 116 ground balls.

Woodall (King Phillip/Norfolk, Mass.) was named to the first team for the second-straight season.  She posted a 10.75 GAA and a .503 save percentage for the season. Woodall was at her best in conference play, with a 6.41 GAA and .568 save percentage against MASCAC foes.

Tonelli (Shrewsbury, Mass.) was selected to the All-Conference team for the second time in her career. She's the Owls second-leading scorer this season with 29 goals and 21 assists.  She has career totals of 120 goals, 49 assists and 169 points, which ranks seventh all-time at Westfield.

Nimeskern (Hanover, Mass.) has been named to the All-Conference team all four years of her career. She has scored 29 goals this season with 22 ground balls and 31 draw controls, and helps to key the Owls' transition play.  She has career totals of 101 goals and 25 assists.

The Owls currently have an 11-9 overall record.  The Owls were 5-2 in the MASCAC in the regular season, but won the conference tournament from the #3 seed, going on the road to defeat Bridgewater in the semifinals and Framingham in the conference championship game.

Westfield is in the NCAA Tournament for the third straight year.  The Owls will play an opening round game against #9 University of Mary Washington on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Middletown, Conn.
