WESTFIELD, Mass. - Westfield State junior forward Melissa Gray (Peabody, Mass.) was named this past week's MASCAC Player of the Week, presented by GEICO.

Gray averaged 16.5 points, 8.5 steals and 6.5 rebounds in two games for the Owls last week. She narrowly missed a triple-double with 25 points, 11 steals and nine rebounds in the 89-82 loss to WPI and added eight points, six steals and four rebounds in the 86-68 setback to Western New England University on Thursday.

Gray is currently leading the nation in steals with 4.91 of them per game.

The Owls finally get to MASCAC competition this Saturday, hosting rival Framingham State at noon in a rematch of last year's conference championship game.
