WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State sophomore runner Nate Sylven (Wrentham, Mass.) received conference yearly honors this past weekend, securing a spot on the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference All-Conference team at the league's championship meet from Doyle Conservation Center in Leominster, Mass. on Saturday.
Sylven was the first Owls athlete to cross the finish line, finishing third overall with a time of 26:35.05 to earn a spot on the all-conference list as the top ten runners receive all-conference honors. The third-place mark helped assist Westfield to a second-place team performance.

In his rookie year, Sylven was named the MASCAC Runner of the Year and Rookie of the Year after speeding home to a first-place mark at the 8k course in Willards Park/Devens Recreational Facility in Worcester, Mass.
Sylven and the Owls will have an extra week to prepare for the Division III Mideast Regional meet, hosted by Connecticut College, which will be held on Saturday, November 16 from Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, Conn.
