Owls Place Fifth at Battle at Bulls Bridge

WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Westfield State men's golf wrapped up the 2024 fall season with a fifth place finish at the "Battle at Bulls Bridge" hosted by the University of Hartford in South Kent, Conn. on Monday.

Bulls Bridge is a private, Tom Fazio designed course that has appeared on Golf Digest's "Best in State" list since opening in 2004.  The course played 6,710 yards at Par 72 on Monday.

First-year Justin Cataldo (Billerica, Mass.) led the Owls, finishing with a 12-over 84 in 18^th place, while senior Brett Gratz(Hatfield, Mass./Smith Academy) was next in 24^th with an 88.

The Owls posted a team score of 354.  Husson (Me.) University won the team titleamong the five competing teams with a score of 295.  The Eagles Chris Kauppila won the individual title with a 2-under-par 70.
