Omot, Hamilton Lead Owls Past Rams, 110-59

WESTFIELD, Mass.  – Juju Omot (Springfield, Mass./Central) scored 24 points to lead five Owls players in double figures as the Owls posted an impressive 110-59 win over Framingham State in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference game at the Woodward Center on Saturday afternoon.

Westfield State improves to 14-6 overall and 5-2 in the MASCAC, and hold onto a share of second place in the league standings.  Framingham slides to 5-15 overall and 0-7 in the conference.

The Owls ran out to a 23-6 lead in the first 10 minutes of the contest and never looked back

Omot finished 9-18 from the floor and 3-4 from three-point range, and added five rebounds.  Brendon Hamilton (Worcester, Mass./Worcester Tech) scored 15 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for the Owls.   Dom Strother (Edinburg, Va./Woodstock Academy) added 15 points, Kuany Teng (Manchester, N.H./Bradford Christian) netted 12, and Brendan Keaveny (Quincy, Mass.) came off the bench to add 12 points, six assists and six steals.    Xavier Lewis (Wheatley Heights, NY/Half Hollow Hills East) dished out seven of the Owls 26 assists on the day.

Westfield forced 28 turnovers from the Rams, which the Owls converted into 35 points.

Framingham was led by 16 points from Kyle Philstin (N. Plainfield, N.J./Pioneer Acad).  Ivan Nyantenji  (Nahsua, N.H. / Nashua South( added nine off the bench on 3-6 shooting from nehind the arc. Duane Mason, Jr. (Oxon Hill, Md./Potomac) led the Rams with six rebounds.

Westfield will next travel to MCLA for a conference matchup on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m., while the Rams will host Bridgewater on Wednesday for a 7:30 p.m. tip
