Owls lose 4-0 at hands of Hawks

WESTFIELD, Mass. — Elizabeth Duquette(Pittsford, NY) netted a hat trick for Roger Williams in a 4-0 win against the Westfield State field hockey team on Saturday.
The game started off quick for the Hawks as they got on offense first and attempted three shots towards Owls goalkeeper Emma Gniadek (Worcester, Mass.). Gniadek had 19 saves on Saturday, including nine in the first quarter. Eliana Kaplan (North Andover, Mass.) also tallied a defensive save with just under two minutes to play in the contest.
The first frame saw on Roger Williams' finish by Duquette found the back of the net in the final minute of the first quarter. Duquette got her second two goals in the second half of the contest.
The Owls were held shotless in the afternoon compared to the Hawks 41 shots with 23 of them being on net.
Westfield State will look to even up the road trip with an away matchup in Vermont against Keene State on Tuesday, September 17 at 6:30 p.m. while Roger Williams looks to continue their win streak at home against Wesleyan on Tuesday, September 17 at 7 p.m.
