Westfield, Mass. – Westfield State (8-4-1, 4-0 MASCAC) jumped all over Mass. Maritime in the first half by netting five goals in the Owls 7-0 victory on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field in Westfield, Mass. The scoring opened up in the 2nd minute, as first-year forward Delaney Parker (Orange, Mass.) collected a pass from senior Jenn Rennich (Bedford, Mass.) to put the Owls on the board.

At the 17th minute, a bounding ball in the box was corralled by junior Kylee Murphy (Haverhill, Mass.), who tapped the ball to first-year Bella Parrotte (East Greenbush, N.Y.) who fired a shot into the lower left corner of the net to put the Owls up two. Parker would tally her 19th goal of the season off a feed from junior Jenna Hurlburt (Kingston, Mass.) at the 30th minute. Two minutes later, first-year Riley Lowe (Andover, Mass.) got in on the scoring on a header off a corner kick from Rennich. Midfielder Amanda Johnson (Wareham, Mass.) would add another goal for the Owls just before the half.

In the second half, Parker crossed a ball through the box to the back post where Jaida Cochran (Middleboro, Mass.) would head in a goal after drilling the cross bar in the first half. Cochran would also add an assist on a Kaitlyn Wernik (Plymouth, Mass.) goal, which was the 7th Owls goal of the afternoon.

Buccaneers goalkeeper Lindsy Durgin (Rochester, Mass.) recorded 12 saves. The Owls rotated through three goalkeepers during the game. Sophomore Michaella Moncecchi (Windsor, Conn.) made both saves for the Owls to secure the shutout. The Owls out-shot the Buccaneers 41-4 and led in shots on goal 13-2.

Buccaneers first-year Taylor Blanton (Auburn, Mass.) led Mass. Maritime with two shots, including their best scoring chance of the afternoon in the final seconds as her shot just missed the left side of the net.
