
WESTFIELD, Mass. — Kenney Rogers three-peats and Angel Price-Espada makes his season debut on the list as Westfield State sweeps MASCAC Player and Rookie of the Week honors in consecutive weeks.
With the holiday coming to a close, Owls men's hoops picks back up like they never left and Westfield grabs both MASCAC Player of the Week honors once again.
Kenny Rogers (Springfield, Mass.) has now been awarded Rookie of the Week for the third time this season as he posted an impressive week yet again. Rogers helped Westfield soar past Anna Maria 95-72 with a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebound performance with a pair of steals. Rogers is now in third place in the MASCAC in points per game with 19.0, fourth in three-point percentage at 41.7, and has scored the second most amount of total points this season at 133.
Angel Price-Espada (Cambridge, Mass.) has won his first MASCAC Player of the Week honors this season as he produced a stat line of 35 points, six rebounds, five assists, and two steals to the resume. Price-Espada scored his 35 points on shooting 50 percent from the floor going 11-22. This was a huge boost to his season total as Price-Espada is the MASCAC leader in points per game at 19.8, he is also now seventh in assists with 19, and second in the MASCAC in steals with 22.
Westfield has won back-to-back games coming into Tuesday night, December 3 as they return to the Woodward Center to face Elms College at 7:00 p.m.
