Westfield State volleyball dropped a pair of matches in a tri meet at Western New England University on Saturday, falling to the hosts and Eastern Connecticut by identical 3-0 scores in Springfield, Mass.

In the opener against Eastern, the game scores were 26-24, 25-23, and 25-19.

Ashley Crowley led the Owls with 10 kills. Ally Rega dished out 24 assists and recorded team best 15 digs.   Eastern Connecticut improved to 10-1 on the year.

Against Western New England, the Owls fell by similarly tight game scores in a 25-20, 25-23, 25-13 decision.

Ainsley MacLeod and Brianna Starkey each recorded five kills.  Westfield falls to 3-15 overall on the season, while Western New England is now 6-11.

Westfield State will next travel to Amherst on Wednesday evening.
