WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State's Jordan Grant continues to be highlighted as one of the top players in New England, as she was named today to the New England Women's Basketball Association's (NEWBA) weekly honor roll for the third time this season.
Grant was named as a first-team honor roll pick for the second time this month and the third time she was chosen for the honor roll this season. Grant averaged 20.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2 assists and two steals per game in a 1-1 week for the Owls. She netted 20 points and four rebounds in a 86-63, non-conference road win at Sage, then added 21 points and nine rebounds in the Owls 81-68 loss to Bridgewater.
For the season, Grant leads the Owls, and ranks second in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference by scoring 16.9 points per game. She grabs 6.1 rebounds per game, and is shooting better than 49 percent from the floor this season.
Grant has scored 1,340 points in her career, currently good for eighth on the Owls' all-time scoring list.
Westfield State is 11-6 overall and 3-1 in the MASCAC. The Owls will travel to Salem State University for a conference game on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m.
