Westfield, Mass. - The Framingham State University women's basketball team saw four players tally double figures as the Rams established a new FSU single game point record in a 102-55 victory over Westfield State University this evening in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at the Athletic Center.

The Owls fell behind quickly right off the opening tip-off as the Rams opened the game on a 9-0 run, and would eventually stretch their lead out to twenty points in the opening frame. The Rams continued to build the lead in the second quarter and kept the Owls off the scoreboard until the 2:52 mark when sophomore forward Jordan Grant (Gray, Maine) converted a jumper making the score 41-14.

Rams sophomore Flannery O'Connor (Amesbury, Mass.) led all scorers with a double-double effort of a game-high 28 points and 15 rebounds to go along with two assists and two steals. Classmate Katty Haidul (Gilford, N.H.) added a double-double of her own with 21 points and a game-best 20 rebounds. That is Haudul's second game this season with 20 rebounds.

Grant was the lone Owls player to reach double figures, scoring 18 points and adding eight rebounds. First-year guard Maddie Pond (Holyoke, Mass.) chipped in with seven points while sophomores' Jess Gardner (Webster, Mass.) and Olivia Hadla (Westfield, Mass.) each contributed six points. The Owls were without two of their top four scorers (Melissa Gray and Paris Wilkey) in the contest.

The Owls had a woeful shooting effort throughout the game, connecting on 23% of their offerings from the field and making just three triples in 36 attempts (9%). The Rams were highly efficient overall, shooting 56% for the game (42-75) and converting on five of eight three-pointers (62.5%).

Westfield State (8-9, 3-2 MASCAC) will have a quick turn-around in a condensed schedule of three games over the next five days starting on Wednesday as the Owls travel to Fitchburg State for a 5:00 P.M. tip-off. Framingham State (12-3, 4-0 MASCAC) will extend their four-game winning streak into a home meeting with Worcester State on Wednesday at 5:30 P.M.
