Men's XC Runs To Fourth Place at Keene State Invitational
Westfield State's men's cross country used a balanced team effort in running to a fourth place finish at the Keene State Invitational on Saturday.

Freshman Jack Merck (West Springfield, Mass.) led the Owls with a 15th place individual finish in 26:51.7.  He was followed by a tight pack, as the Owls 2-7 runners all finished within a minute of Merck.   Zach Bentley (Acushnet/Taunton, Mass.) was next in 23rd place and Kevin Rayner (Pittsfield, Mass.) in 24th.

Williams won the team title with 54 points, followed by Brandeis (88), UMass Dartmouth (88) and Westfield with 117 points.

Suffolk University's Matyas Csiki-Fejer won the individual title in 25:57.3 on the five-mile course.

Westfield will be back in action next Saturday, as the Owls host the James Earley Invitational at Stanley Park in Westfield.
