Rennich, Parker Earn MASCAC Honors
Jenn Rennich received the MASCAC player of the week while Delaney Parker was awarded rookie of the week
Westfield, Mass. – Westfield State senior Jenn Rennich (Bedford, Mass.) and first-year Delaney Parker (Orange, Mass.) each received MASCAC honors this past week. Rennich earned the MASCAC player of the week while Parker claimed the rookie of the week.
Rennich totaled five goals and two assists in a 2-0 week for the Owls. She netted her second hat-trick of the year in a 6-0 victory over UMass Dartmouth this past Tuesday while adding two goals and two assists in a 7-0 win over Fitchburg on Saturday. On the season, Rennich has scored 11 goals and 12 assists for a total of 34 points. She is also climbing in the Westfield State record books as her 32 career assists ranks second all-time and her 24 career goals is good for 13th.
Parker tallied four goals over the course of the two victories, scoring two against UMass Dartmouth and then compiling goals number 24 and 25 versus Fitchburg. She ranks first in Division III in goals and has blown past the single-season goal record at Westfield State (21). She also set the school record for single-season points this past week as well, racking up 58 points on the season which surpassed the previous mark of 52.
With the win against Fitchburg over the weekend, Westfield State (11-4-1, 6-0 MASCAC) has clinched the top seed in the MASCAC tournament.
The Owls will have two more games remaining in the regular season as they play host to UMass Dartmouth on Wednesday at 7:00 P.M. followed by Salem State on Saturday at 5:00 P.M. from Alumni Field.
