WESTFIELD, Mass. –   Westfield State first-year Delaney Parker (Orange, Mass./Mahar) scored a pair of goals and added an assist to break the school's single-season records for goals (23) and points (54) in a season, as the Owls women's soccer team rolled to 6-0 non-conference win over UMass-Dartmouth on Tuesday night at Alumni Field.

Parker's record-setting night overshadowed a hat trick from Owls' senior midfielder Jenn Rennich (Bedford, Mass.).

Westfield improves to 10-4-1 on the season, while UMD slips to 1-11-1.

Rennich started the party early for Westfield with goals in the fifth and 11th minute of play.  The former came on a nice passing sequence where Bella Parrotte (East Greenbush, N.Y./Columbia HS) and Marissa Jacob (Holden, Mass./Wachussett) found Rennich in the middle of the penalty area, where she lifted a shot high into the net.   Six minutes later, Westfield's Morgan Remington (Enfield, Conn.) fired a long ball out of the back, and Rennich ran on to the bouncing ball through the Corsairs' back four and chipped it over the head of goalkeeper Jessica Costa (Fall River, Mass./Diman) who came out late to contest the play.

Parker set the single season goal record just six seconds later, when Parrotte stepped in to steal an errant pass off the kickoff, and slotted a long through ball down the left side to Parker for her 22nd goal of the season.  That broke the mark of 21 set by Sarah Sypek in 2014.

Parker then assisted on Jaida Cochran's (Middleboro, Mass.) header off of Parker's corner kick, which let Parker tie the single season record for points (52, also by Sypek in 2014), and gave Westfield a 4-0 lead late in the first half.

Rennich netted her third of the night as Parker, then Kylee Murphy (Haverhill, Mass.) hammered shots that were saved by Costa, with Rennich gathering the second rebound and popping it in the wide open right side of the net.

Parker extended the single season scoring record with her 23th goal of the year, again off of a long feed from Remington, to cap the scoring late in the 61st minute, to give her 54 points for the season.

Westfield outshot the Corsairs 25-5.  Lauryn Davis (Templeton, Mass./Quabbin)made a pair of saves for the Owls in the first half before giving way to Sarah Fuller (Weymouth, Mass.) and Michaella Moncecchi (Windsor, CT/Wahconah Reg.)in net in the second half.

Costa finished with 11 saves for the Corsairs.

Parker has scored two goals in the last five straight games for Westfield, and has nine multiple goal games so far this season.

Rennich meanwhile, moves into 12th on the Owls career scoring list with 74 points.

Westfield won its fifth straight game and has won eight of nine.

The Owls will next travel to Fitchburg State for a MASCAC game on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
