Women's Basketball Hosts SUNY-Cobleskill on Wednesday

Westfield, Mass - Westfield State women's basketball looks to get back to their winning ways after a 80-75 defeat against the Western New England Golden Bears on Saturday, as the Owls will take on SUNY Cobleskill on Wednesday December 14, 2022. This game will be played in the Woodward Center on the campus of Westfield State University with tip off at 7:00 p.m.

As the Owls prepare for their matchup against SUNY Cobleskill they will look for their key players to help lead the team to victory. One of the key players on the court is Olivia Hadla (Westfield, MA). Hadla dropped 24 points in the loss to Western New England. The Owls center Jordan Grant (Gray, ME), as collected nine rebounds while also scoring 13 points.

Hadla leads the Owls at 17.5 points per game, while Grant adds 15.9 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.    Jess Gardner has scored in double-figures in three of her last five games, and is added 9.3 points per night.

The Fighting Tigers of SUNY Cobleskill are coming off a huge win as they continued their four-game win streak.  They took on Northern Vermont University-Johnson on Sunday December 11, where the Tigers won by a score of 72-68. The Fighting Tigers took the game over when star first year Emily Satterday (Latham, NY) took a hold of the boards and collected nine rebounds. Satterday also scored 11 points, leading the team in scoring. She was helped out by fellow first year, Talia Washington (Schenectady N.Y.), who scored 14 points and two assists.

Westfield looks to close out the semester strong, as the Owls will break for the winter break after this game.  The Owls will return to action at home on Monday, December 2 against Coast Guard.  Please note that game is now a 2:00 p.m. start (as it was originally scheduled for 7:00 p.m.).
