WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State ice hockey's Emile Pichette (Saint-Eustache, Quebec) was named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week after a strong showing in the Owls' loss against Southern New Hampshire University in the Hockey Fights Hunger game in Woburn, Mass.

Pichette scored the Owls' second goal of the game in the beginning of the second period off of the rebound of his own saved shot to put the Owls ahead 2-1 as the Owls ultimately fell 3-2 in a tightly contested game.

The first-year forward has provided instant offense for Westfield in the first seven games of the season. He's scored a goal and dished out six assists for a total of seven points on the season, which is good enough for the second highest point total on the team.

The Owls (4-2-1, 2-1-1 MASCAC) look ahead to their next conference matchup against Fitchburg State on Thursday, November 30 for a 6:30 P.M. start time.
