WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State first-year forward Christopher Miraldo (Montreal, Quebec) earned conference recognition this past week after being named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference's Co-Rookie of the Week after a 2-0 week for the Owls.

Miraldo earned four points over two games for Westfield, tallying three goals and an assist. With the Owls trailing 1-0 with less than four minutes to play in regulation, Miraldo scored a pair of goals to push Westfield to a 2-1 come-from-behind win over MCLA on Saturday night. He also recorded a goal and an assist in the Owls 6-4 victory over Framingham on Thursday night.

The rookie forward has made an immediate impact for the Owls as he is second in the MASCAC with six goals. His seven points are tied for the team lead with Emile Pichette, another first-year forward for Westfield. Miraldo has claimed the conference's Rookie of the Week honors for the second time this year.

The Owls (4-1-1) have collected points in three straight games, winning their last two games overall to improve their conference record to 2-1-1 in the early stages of the season. Westfield State will face-off against Southern New Hampshire University as part of the Hockey Fights Hunger Game from O'Brien Rink in Woburn, Mass on Tuesday at 5:35 P.M.
