WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State hockey's senior goalie Kevin Chandler (Hanover, Mass.) continues his impressive start to the season by being named this week's Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Goalie of the Week.

Chandler recorded 50 saves with a .962 save percentage in the 2-2 overtime tie against USCHO.com's #6 nationally-ranked Plymouth State. Chandler was particularly dominant in the later part of the game with 14 of his saves coming in the third period, and four more coming in overtime to secure the tie against a tough Plymouth squad.

Chandler has appeared in all four games for the Owls this season, totaling 144 saves to lead the MASCAC with his .935 save percentage holding second of all conference netminders.

Chandler continues to build on an impactful start to the season as he also holds a 33-save game from Westfield's 6-2 championship-winning game against Western New England in the Western Massachusetts Invitational tournament, which earned him tournament MVP honors.

The Owls (2-2-1; 0-1-1 MASCAC) look to grab their first conference win as they host Framingham State at the Amelia Park arena on Thursday, September 16 for a 7:35 P.M. start time.
