WESTFIELD, MA – The Westfield State Owls men's hockey team returns to Amelia Park this Saturday at 5:35 p.m. to take on the Salem State Vikings in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletics Conference (MASCAC) matchup.

In their third meeting of the season, Westfield looks to take home another victory against the Vikings. The previous matchups were decided in a pair of Owls wins, 8-2 at home and 6-2 on the road, respectively.

The Owls moved to 8-3-2 in the conference, 10-5-5 overall, following a 5-0 shutout victory against Worcester State Thursday night.

Sophomore Jake Ratcliffe (Canterbury, New Zealand) leads the Owls into battle following a two-goal, one-assist performance against Worcester, improving to 11 goals with 19 points on the season. Freshman forward John-Michael DiGregorio (Montreal, Quebec) anchors the Owls offense with 20 points and 12 assists.

Following an impressive 26-save outing, Senior goaltender Thierry Messervier (Montreal, Quebec) improves to a 2.49 GAA, as he prepares to defend the crease against a fierce Vikings offense.

Salem State travels to Westfield carrying a 4-11-4 record, 4-6-2 MASCAC, and currently sit at fifth place in the conference. The Vikings return from a week-long break following a 4-2 victory over the league-leading Plymouth State Panthers on February 1. Senior defenseman Callum Hofford (Woodbridge, Ontario) provides Salem with 17 points and 11 assists, ahead of this weekend's matchup. Sophomore Billy McGwinn (Rochester, NY) looks to support the Vikings offense with six goals and five assists.
