Westfield State University's Alumni Field, one of the first artificial turf fields in New England, received a full makeover in the summer of 2018, as a brand-new SprintTurf Field was installed, giving the Owls the most state-of-the-art playing surface available today.

Alumni Field is home to the Owls football, field hockey, men's and women's soccer and women's lacrosse teams.  Other varsity sports teams also utilize the surface for training, and the field also is the home of the club rugby and men's lacrosse programs, as well as a wide variety of intramural sports.

Fully lighted for night practices and games, the stadium has bleacher seating for 4,000 spectators, as well as an enclosed press box with coaching and broadcast space.

Hundreds of Westfield State events, practices and classes are annually contested on the field, which has also hosted numerous MIAA high school championship events.  

The field was originally installed in 1974, the year that the Westfield State men's soccer program advanced to the NCAA Division III Final Four, and the Alumni Field was host to both the 1981 and 2006 NCAA Division III National Championships, as well as the unbeaten 2001 football team that advanced to the NCAA Playoffs.

The field has been resurfaced on several occasions to ensure safe and top-notch playing surfaces for Owls student athletes.  in 1993, the field was named "Alumni Field" in honor of the student body, which approved a referendum for an annual student activities fee that would fund the field in perpetuity.  The field saw further upgrades in 2016 and again in 2018.
