Kelly Receives MASCAC Runner and Rookie of the Week Honors

WESTFIELD, Mass – Westfield State University first-year cross country runner Julianne Kelly (Natick, Mass.) received Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Rookie and Runner of the Week awards for her performance in the Connecticut College Invitational on Saturday, October 15.

This marks the fourth consecutive week Kelly has earned the Rookie of the Week award, and the third occasion she has won Runner of the week. The MASCAC is recognizing her for leading the Owls to a first-place finish on Saturday.  Kelly completed the 6,000-meter course in 24:16 and finished eighth overall out of 113 competing athletes.

Last week Kelly earned Rookie of the week for her performance in the James Earley Invitational.

Between Kelly and first-year Tealei Chandonnet (Dracut, Mass.), Westfield State Women's cross country has been recognized as rookie or runner of the week, every week for the entire season thus far.

Kelly and the Westfield State University Owls coast into MASCAC Championships on Saturday, October 29 at their home course Stanley Park in Westfield, Massachusetts.
