O’Sullivan Paces Owls at Carolina Grape ’22 Memorial Blue Race

Westfield, Mass. – Westfield State senior Amy O'Sullivan (Greenfield, Mass.) crossed the finish line in 19th place as the Owls finished in 20th out of the 27 team field at the Carolina Grape '22 Memorial Blue Race at Connecticut College on Saturday morning.

O'Sullivan's 19th place finish in the 206-runner field came at a time of 22:45.2 on the six kilometer course.

Westfield State senior Kayla Whitcomb (Hubbardston, Mass.) was the second Owls runner to complete the race, finishing in 141st place with a time of 25:37.5.

Williams College finished on top as a team with a score of 72 points. MIT (99 points) and Tufts University (120 points) rounded off the top three.

Tufts junior Danielle Page (Gloucester, Mass.) finished first individually with a time of 21:02.1.

The women's blue race was dedicated to Connecticut College student-athlete Caroline Grape, a former runner who would be a senior this year and unfortunately passed away a few years ago on December 10th, 2019.

The Owls will have an extra week to prepare for their next race which is the MASCAC Championship on Saturday, October 30th.
