Whitcomb Leads Owls to Fourth Place Finish at Trinity Bantam Invitational

WESTFIELD, Mass. – Senior Kayla Whitcomb placed 11th overall with a time of 21:48 to pace the Westfield State women's cross country team's efforts at the Trinity Bantam Invitational meet at Wickham Park in Manchester, Conn.

Whitcomb led the Owls scoring group, followed by freshman Kerrin Johnson in 22:03, and sophomore Grace Poplawski in 22:11.   Mia McDonald (20th , 22:23) and   Lauren Flynn (41st, 24:08) rounded out Westfield's scorers on the 5,000 meter course.

Seven teams competed, as Wesleyan won the meet with 29 points, followed by Tufts (50), Div. 2 New Haven (91pts) and Westfield (95 pts).

The Owls will be back in action next weekend at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational.
