WESTFIELD, Mass. -  First-year Lauren Carnes hammered out 12 kills to lead the way as Westfield State posted a 3-0 win at Fitchburg State on Friday afternoon.

Westfield won by scores of 25-17, 28-26 and 25-23.

The Owls improve to 7-0 in the MASCAC and wrap up the top seed in the upcoming conference tournament.

Julia Bartiet had 11 kills with an impressive .529 kill percentage. Bridgette McAndrews rounded out the Owls big three with 10 kills. Morgan Dority topped the team in assists with 21, while Julia Dangel-Garcia finished just behind her with 18. Michaela O'Connor held down the back row with 18 digs.

Fitchburg is now 8-16 and 2-5 in the league.

Westfield will wrap up the regular season on Saturday with a non-conference match at Brandeis.
