Ally Rega Named MASCAC Volleyball Athlete of the Week

WESTFIELD, Mass. –  Westfield State University senior setter Ally Rega (Chelmsford, Mass.) was named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball player of the week after leading the Owls to a 2-0 week.

Rega dished out 30 assists in a 3-0 win at Mount Holyoke College on Thursday evening, and then handed out 24 more in a 3-0 win over NVU-Johnson on Saturday.  She added 10 digs and a pair of block assists in the win over Johnson.

The Owls' primary setter, Rega has a total of 229 assists through eight matches this season.

Westfield State has a 4-5 record overall this season. The Owls play their first MASCAC game of the season tomorrow night, when they host MCLA at 6 p.m. at the Woodward Center.
