Owl Women Third at Corsair Invitational

WESTFIELD, Mass.  –   The Westfield State women's track and field team placed third at the UMass Dartmouth Corsair Invitational meet on Saturday in North Dartmouth, Mass.

The Owls were 3rd of 12 scoring teams at the meet. WPI won the team scoring with 203 points, followed by Springfield with 120, and the Owls with 93.  UMass Darmouth was fourth with 89.

Westfield's 4x100 relay team won in a time of 51.83, with Angelina Lubarsky, Paige Moroney, Emily Ottomaniello, and Delaney Parker passing the baton.

The group figured prominently in the Owls scoring, as Lubarsky placed third in the 200 with a time of 27.23; Parker placed third in the long jump with a leap of 4.86 meters and took second in 100 meters in 12.77 seconds.  Moroney was third in the 100 in 12.92.

Westfield's Eliza Lee placed second in the triple jump (10.46 meters), second in the 400 (1:03.45 ) and fourth in the long jump at 4.81 meters.

Bronwyn Pinsley took third in discus (33.20 meters) and Julianne Kelly fourth in the steeplechase with a time of 12:44.01.

Westfield will be back in action next Saturday at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy Invitational meet.
