WESTFIELD, Mass. –  Westfield State women's track and field turned in a handful of strong performances at the Corsair Classic at UMass Dartmouth on Saturday, despite persistent rain and buffeting winds.

The duo flipped those results in the long jump, where Marin edged Lee, with Marin third (4.74m) and Lee fourth (4.73m).

Owls grad student Mia McDonald was Westfield's other event winner,  in the 3000 steeplechase with a time of 12:31.41.

Grace Poplawski placed third in the 10,000 meter run in a personal best time of 41:49.56.  Teammate Rebecca Patel was fourth in 42:44.31

Other solid results came from Ariann LeCours - second in the 5000 meters in 20:10.66; Savannah Campbell - second in the 400 hurdles in 1:21.24; and Brynne LeCours - fourth in the 800in  2:40.79

Westfield's Shea Hamel took third place (5:21.64) and Molly Kennedy fourth (5:23.75) in a 35-runner deep 1500 meter field.

The Owls will return to action and hope for better weather next Saturday at the Coast Guard Invitational, before coming home to host the Jerry Gravel Invitational in Westfield on April 15.
