Marin Leads Owls on Day 1 of New England D3's

WESTFIELD, Mass. –  Sophomore Vicky Marin (Greenfield, Mass.) placed 12th in the women's 60-meter high hurdles   at the New England Division III indoor track and field championships at New Balance on Friday afternoon.
 
Marin ran 9:58 seconds, finishing fifth in her heat.
 
The Owls 800-meter relay team of Mackenzie Burgoyne (Natick, Mass.), Emily Ottmaniello (Agawam, Mass), Becca Welch (Walpole, Mass.), and Paige Moroney (Sterling, Mass./Wachussett), placed 17th 1:51.54   Wesleyan won in a meet record time of 1:41.80, more than a second off the previous record.
 
Westfield's 4000 meter distance medley relay team of Molly Kennedy (W. Spingfield, Mass.), Moroney, Brynne Lecours (Haverhill, Mass.) and Shea Hamel (Longmeadow, Mass.) placed 15th among 25 competitors with a time of 13:05.52.
 
The meet continues tomorrow with field events beginning at 9 am and the running events commencing at 11:30.
