WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State senior Amy O'Sullivan (Greenfield, Mass.) wrapped up her stellar career and the Owls 2021-22 athletic seasons with a 22nd place finish in the 10,000 meters at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio on Thursday night.

O'Sullivan completed the 25-lap race in a time of 38:44.95.

The field featured several familiar faces, as O'Sullivan was making her third appearance at a national meet this year, having qualified for the national meet in cross country in the fall and indoors in the 5000 meters in the winter.

Wellesley's Ari Marks won the 10,000 today with a time of 34.50.55, 27 seconds ahead of Kassie Parker of Loras.   Parker won both the NCAA Division III cross country and indoor 5000 titles this year, with narrow wins over Marks in both, as O'Sullivan also competed in all three events.

O'Sullivan, who was named the Westfield State Female Athlete of the Year, graduates with a mantle full of honors, including the MASCAC cross country individual championship in the fall.   O'Sullivan set a school record in the 10,000 meters with a time of 35:58.47 at the New England D3 Championships earlier this spring, which qualified her for the national meet.

O'Sullivan's race wraps up intercollegiate competition for Westfield State University for the 2021-22 academic year, as the Owls won the Smith Cup as the best overall athletics program in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference.
