Women's Track and Field Places Sixth at Coast Guard Invitational

Westfield State's sprinters and jumpers had a solid day, as the Owls placed sixth at the US Coast Guard Academy Invitational on Saturday.

Owls sophomore Paige Moroney placed fourth in the 100 meters, sixth in the 200 meters, and ran a leg of Westfield's 4x100 relay team which placed third in 51.66.

First-year Victoria Marin anchored the Owls 4x100, and turned in several more strong performances to continue a standout season.  She placed fourth in the 100 hurdles in 15.49 seconds, second in both the high jump (1.47m), and long jump (5.31m).

Senior Carly Smith took home a fourth place finish in the high jump at 1.42 meters.

Westfield will return home to host the Jerry Gravel Invitational next Saturday at the Jerry Gravel Track.
