Westfield State senior Lauren Gilderdale (Great Barrington, Mass.) posted a pair of top 5 finishes to lead the Owls efforts at the New England Division III women's track and field chamionships at Middlebury College on Saturday.

Gilderdale took fourth place in the shot put with a top heave of 12.25m (40-02.25), and spun the 20-lb weight 16.81m (55-02.00) to place second.  She will be accorded All-New England honors by finishing in the top eight in both events.

Westfield finished 15th as a team overall among 26 scoring teams with 14 points.  Williams College won the meet with 159 points.
