WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Westfield State senior Lauren Gilderdale (Great Barrington, Mass) was named this week's Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Track and Field Athletes of the Week, sponsored by Geico. Sophomore Amy O'Sullivan (Greenfield, Mass.) was named on the MASCAC weekly honor roll list.

 Gilderdale took home two titles at the 2020 Women's Indoor Track and Field championship. A new personal record in weight throw toss of 17.25 meters (56' 7.25"), has her ranked 12th in the nation on the NCAA Division III indoor performance list.  Gilderdale also added a second title in the shot put with  12.94 meters (42' 5.5"). With this hard work, the Owls won their fourth indoor conference in a row.

At the 2020 Women's Indoor Track and Field championship O'Sullivan competed in three different events. After Amy finished first in the 5,000 meters (18:38.19) and she outkicked opponents to take home second place in both the 3,000 (10:26.60) and the mile (5:15.65) to score 26 points for the Owls at the meet.

The Owls will compete in the New England Division three championship on February 28th at Middlebury College in Middlebury, VT.
