WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Westfield State senior Lauren Gilderdale (Great Barrington, Mass) and sophomore Amy O'Sullivan (Greenfield, Mass.) were named this week's Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Track and Field Athletes of the Week, sponsored by Geico.

Gilderdale finished first in both the shot put and the weight throw at the Massasoit Invitational meet at Springfield College. She had her best throws of the season, throwing the shot put 13.12m (43' 00.50") and launching the 20-lb weight 17.04m (55' 11.00"). 

Gilderdale is currently ninth on the Division Three performance list in the weight throw and twenty first in the shot put.

O'Sullivan crossed the line first in the mile run with a time of 5:15.16 at the Massasoit Invitational hosted by Springfield College. She currently sits 16th in New England in the event.

Lauren and Amy will both be competing in the New England All-Divisions at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston Massachusetts on Friday January, 31.
