WESTFIELD, Mass. - Westfield State women's track athletes Lexi Popp (Westford, Mass.) and Mia McDonald (Westfield, Mass.) won this week's MASCAC Women's Track Athlete and Rookie of the Week awards, respectively, due to their stellar performances at the Coast Guard Invitational.

Popp continued her impressive year, winning the 400 meter dash in a facility record time of 57.27 and added a second-place finish in the 200 meters in a time of 26.10. Popp is currently ranked sixth nationally in the 400 meters.

McDonald won the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the Coast Guard Invitational with a time of 13:03.22.

Women's track and field gets back to work this Saturday, as the Owls host the annual Jerry Gravel Classic at Westfield State University.
