Westfield Swims Past Plymouth State

WESTFIELD, Mass.  – Sophomore Kait Kelly (Hampden, Mass.) won three individual events and a relay to lead Westfield State swimming to a 153-124 win over Plymouth State University in a dual swim meet in Plymouth, N.H. on Saturday.

Kelly helped spark the Owls as they won eight of the first nine events.

Six different Owls swimmers won their individual events.

Kelly led off the 200 medley relay unit which won in a time of 2:05.14.  She also topped the 50 backstroke, and the 50 and 100 freestyle events.

Amber Stearns (Milford, Mass.), Emma Colcord (Landmark/Andover, Mass.), Kelsey Johnstone (Westfield/Southwick, Mass.) and Shannon Fitzsimmons (Andover, Mass.) and Emily Smith (Medway, Mass.) all picked up wins for Westfield.

The Owls improve to 4-2 on the season in dual meet competition.

Westfield will break from competition until January 18, when they host the University of St. Joseph after the Owls return from their annual Florida training trip.
