WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State graduate student Jenn Rennich (Bedford, Mass.) and first-year Kiki McNary (Brattleboro, Vt.) swept the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference honors this past week with Rennich earning the conference Player of the Week and McNary receiving the Rookie of the Week.

Rennich tallied her first two goals of the season in a 3-0 victory over Mount Holyoke in the first game of the Owls Kickoff Classic powered by Westfield Gas and Electric and Whip City Fiber. She netted a pair of first-half goals to jumpstart an Owls offense that set a school-record 78 goals a season ago. Rennich also got the Owls off to a fast start on Sunday against Springfield College, scoring both Westfield goals in the first half, including a free kick goal that was labeled in the top left corner of the net. The match against Springfield was suspended due to lightning as the Owls lead Springfield 2-1 in the first half. A date to resume play is still to be determined.

McNary buried the knockout punch for the Owls against Mount Holyoke in the second half, registering her first collegiate goal at the 75th minute, beating a sliding keeper to the ball to tuck away the goal and distance themselves from the Lyons, 3-0.

Westfield State stays home for their next match-up as the Owls host Southern Maine in a non-conference game from Alumni Field in Westfield, Mass.
