Westfield, Mass. – The Westfield State women's soccer team locked up the top spot in the MASCAC tournament with a 7-0 victory over Fitchburg State on a Saturday afternoon at Elliot Field.  Westfield State grabbed the lead in the 16th minute as junior Kylee Murphy (Haverhill, Mass.) collected a feed from senior Jenn Rennich (Bedford, Mass.), who deposited a shot into the right side of the net for her second goal of the year.

The Owls doubled their advantage at the 42:42 mark when Rennich fired a shot just inside the left post for her tenth marker of the 2021 campaign to make the score 2-0 going into the break.

Following the intermission, Westfield State secured the victory in the 56th minute when first-year Delaney Parker (Orange, Mass.) settled a feed from Rennich and lofted a shot into the upper right corner for her 24th score of the season to push the lead to three.

Parker and Rennich would each add a goal later in the second half. Sophomore defender Erin White (Plympton, Mass.) scored her first goal of the year at the 81st minute to put the finishing touches on a 6-0 victory.
