Owls Open the Season Victorious Behind Parker’s Hat Trick

Westfield State first-year forward Delaney Parker (Orange, Mass.) wasted no time making her impact with the Owls as she recorded a hat trick and an assist in the Owls 4-0 season opening victory at Kean University Friday afternoon. Parker opened the scoring in the 22nd minute to put Westfield ahead heading into the half.

The Owls then pulled away in the second half, piling on three goals. Parker collected her second at the 49th minute, which was then followed by first-year defenseman Jaida Cochran's (Middleboro, Mass.) first career goal just five minutes later. Parker added an exclamation point with her third goal of the game in the 64th minute.

Owls First-Year midfielder Emily Landry (Agawam, Mass.) added an assist and junior goalkeeper Lauryn Davis (Templeton, Mass.) stopped all seven shots on net.

Kean goalie Julia Masucci (Spotswood, N.J.) recorded three saves.

The Owls next game will be against Stockton University at the Cougar Classic at Kean University tomorrow at 1:30pm.
